Tom Ring is the founder and president of TOM RING INTERIOR DESIGN, located in the Chelsea section of New York City.

TOM RING INTERIOR DESIGN’s residential practice is known for it’s distinct combination of traditional appeal with contemporary overtones, providing a classic feel in a soothing and warmly understated manner.

“Living in beautiful surroundings enhances the quality of one’s life”, says Mr. Ring. This principal guides the style Tom Ring provides for his clients. Each design project sympathetically reflects the architecture, setting and client desires as shown in the many projects he has designed – whether a contemporary, hillside residence in Seoul, South Korea or a 19th Century Connecticut farmhouse.

Other residential credits include New Jersey estates, vacation homes on the East End of Long Island, residences in Northern and Southern California and an array of Manhattan apartments.

The work of TOM RING INTERIOR DESIGN has been featured in such high profile Designer Showhouses as the Montclair (NJ) Junior League and Chris Madden’s Rye (NY) Showhouse.

In 2003, Mr. Ring was a featured designer in the Montclair (NJ) Showhouse, hosted in the home of New York Giants player Michael Strahan and his wife, Jean. Mr. Ring designed the mansion’s dining room, combining superb Georgian furniture with hand painted murals of English forests. The room’s highlights included a large George I Lacquer Cabinet on Stand, a Remington bronze and a family portrait by Sir Joshua Reynolds.

TOM RING INTERIOR DESIGN also provides design services for commercial projects. These projects have ranged from offices in Santa Monica, California, to a Synagogue in New Jersey, to shops in Southampton.

Before opening his own practice in 1992, Mr. Ring apprenticed with the renowned interior designer, Billy W. Francis for five years, following two years at Hyde Park Antiques, Ltd., New York – purveyors of the finest in English antique furniture – under the tutelage of Mr. Bernard Karr and Mr. Craig Williams.

Active in the New York interior design community, Mr. Ring studied interior design at Parsons School of Design. A native of North Bellmore, Long Island, he is a graduate of Fairfield University, Fairfield, Connecticut.

Mr. Ring resides in Manhattan.
